    Capitol Group were appointed to carry out the electrical services works on this project by Buxton Building Contractors following their successful tender submission for the main contract works. The project was predesigned by the in-house engineers at Epsom & St. Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust, and as part of the contract we were required to develop the design to meet the construction phase and various changes implemented by the Trust during the contract. The project was a full refurbishment of the existing 4 units of the accident and emergency department and in order to maintain normal A&E operations the project was carried out in 4 phases. The works comprised modifications to the base build low voltage distribution systems including dedicated sub mains and new distribution boards for each department as well as the installation of new distribution boards for new roof mounted mechanical services plant and data comms room. In addition to the above the following new systems were provided:

    • Bedhead Trunking System by Cableflow
    • Brandon Medical Examination lights
    • Thorlux Lighting
    • Fire Alarm
    • Intercom and induction loops
